From my textbook this morning

"Planners begin by attempting to transform their environment and end by being absorbed into it. This pattern of failure is most evident in the poor countries of this world...Planning fails everywhere it has been tried....If governments perseverate in national planning, it must be because their will to believe triumphs over their experience. Planning is not so much for the social scientist as it is for the theologian."

I've been debating whether or not to drop out. This pretty much says it all.

"Now, I do have to warn you all, any anthropological field work involves inherit risks. For instance, if you're trying to observe and understand the things that happen on Sprague, I would recommend not going at night, or into the Hell's Angels bar." - My Professor
In Response:
"I'm from Bremerton. I'm familiar with all sorts of street activities. I walked into a biker bar there and they never gave me no trouble. Where is the Hell's Angels bar on Sprague? I'm goin'.-Joseph, in a teal dress shirt, matching tie and a Fedora. (1st year student)

"We're here to learn about community development, or the development of the community".
-My professor.

"I've assigned somethings online, I'd like you all to take a look"-Prof
"Wait, so you've put stuff online? Like assignments you want us to do?" (Fedora Joe)
